Emergency Quests (indicated with a icon, and also known as EQs) are large-scale quests that occur at-random in all Regions on Halpha. They're large-scale operations against Raid-Type bosses or other types of long missions. Fights against them tend to be longer battles, so make sure you have the time needed to take them on.
Clearing them tends to give a clear reward N-Meseta, as well as other items such as Ability Capsules and rare Ores. They can also drop equipment and Weapon Camos.
Emergency Quest Generation
Emergency Quests have a chance to be generated at 15 minutes before a full hour. If it occurs, an Emergency Quest announcement will be signaled in all regions, along with the location of the emergency quest being put on the World Map. The skies will also turn red at the point of the mission start.
The announcement you get is for the region you are currently in, and changing the region will announce the Emergency Quest for that region. If you are in the section where the Emergency Quest is being held, a big on-screen marker will be shown as well.
If you are in the ARKS Base for the Region or Section that the Emergency Quest is taking place, the normal music and Mag Jukebox will be overridden with the associated Emergency Quest music ("Exigency" for most except "A Sign of Dark Falz" for Dark Falz Interception Battle and The Battle of Lake Halphiria).
Once the 15 minutes of preparation are up, the Emergency Quests are now able to be started, along with a new announcement and skies becoming vortex red, along with unique SFX.
The Emergency Quest can be started within 30 minutes of it becoming active. Once the Emergency Quests ends, the Emergency Quest icons disappear, an ending announcement is played and all activities return to normal. Should you still be in matching at the time of EQ finishing, the game will automatically cause a force-start situation to occur, with all parties having to decide in 60 seconds to either start or leave matching.
Even if the Emergency Quests will finish after the time allowed to start, the quest will be allowed to continue and all Emergency Quests effects will continue to apply. Once players complete an Emergency Quests, a Clear Limit will go down to all active Emergency Quests, not just the one you have completed. This means it is impossible to do multiple Emergency Quests back-to-back.
Once an Emergency Quest is over, another one cannot generate for at least 2 full hours. On average, Emergency Quests occur every 3 hours or so, with maximum allowed time between Emergency Quests being 5 hours. In addition, an Emergency Quest cannot occur 2 hours before scheduled maintenance time.
Live Concerts
15 minutes before a full hour, instead of an Emergency Quest being announced, a Live Concert might be announced. This will also be announced in all sections. While a concert will occur in only 1 ARKS Base, it can be watched from any Base with usage of monitors.
The concerts last a given amount of time. Once the concert ends, everyone who was inside an ARKS Base at the time concert was finished will be granted a +10% Tri-Boost. You do not have to watch the entire concert to be given a Live Boost buff.
Once the concert ends, the Emergency Quests will occur almost immediately after at 15 min to half hour, with all of the rules mentioned above, with exception that it can override the maintenance lock.
There are following concerts being held:
Location | Songs Played | Time Length |
---|---|---|
Retem City |
#1 Song of Battle ~Against Fate~ #2 Song of Mourning ~The Beginning Wind~ |
12 minutes |
Emergency Quest Types
There are a few types of Emergency Quests that can happen throughout the sections.
- Major EQ: These are fights against bosses that you cannot fight otherwise in the open world setting, with 1 hour time limit. Heavily scripted, features many unique attacks, multiple HP Bars and other conditions. Oftentimes despite having a spot on World Map, the fights usually take place on a unique area at least for one of the phases of fight. Their clear rewards give 20k N-Meseta on S Rank, and boss tends to drop all of the other Boss Soul capsules at least once.
- Minor EQ: These are fights against Battlefield Overseer type DOLLS. They are variants on the original enemy, with dull white armor, higher HP then their normal version, and have new attack patterns. They tend to award 10k N-Meseta on S-Rank. Those can be further split into two sub-types:
- VS Boss, where you are spawn instantly into the boss arena and fight with him starts as soon as possible
- Dungeon + Boss, where you have to fight through a dungeon with mobs and bosses along the way. They oftentimes feature trials you must clear to proceed.
- Defense EQ: These are Emergency Quests where your job is to protect Mining Rigs before they're destroyed from a massive horde of enemies. With some help of gimmicks like Mobile Cannons and Floating Boards, players must defeat enemies before they get to the Mining Rigs and damage them. They tend to be the longest Emergency Quests of the bunch, but they can reward large amounts of N-Meseta and drops due to amount of mobs required to kill. They tend to on clear give 15k N-Meseta on S-Rank. Refer to the Mining Rig Defense page for more information on how Defence Emergency Quests operate.
Emergency Quest Mechanics
There are a few mechanics you have to be aware of to do well in Emergency Quests.
For all types
During Emergency Quests, there is a form of a passive automatic revival. Once you are incapacitated, along with regular Half-Doll/Scape-Doll revival methods or just waiting for a Reverser Sign revive, a 30 second respawn timer will start running. After 30 seconds, you can revive with full HP on the spot, however this will count against your Incapacitation Bonus and the death therefore will be recorded if it's being tracked.
Furthermore, the end amount of N-Meseta does count towards ranking. Every quest has a different way of scaling down your N-Meseta rewards if you get lower ranks. However, other rewards including drops are not affected (with exception of Defence Emergency Quests).
For Major and Minor Emergency Quests
During a boss battle against the main enemy of the EQ, which is always an Enemy Subjugation Trial, the HP of the boss is visible in full, so you know how close it is to dying.
Below the HP bar is the Down Gauge. Depleting it to 0 will cause a special Down State called a "BREAK" to occur, during which you will deal double damage to the boss. Some bosses however might be in a super-armor state, which is indicated by the Break bar being greyed out and not moving. During those phases of the fight, you cannot deplete Down Gauge and any potential "BREAKS" are delayed until the phase concludes.
Secondly, you are being ranked on 3 requirements:
- Enemy Defeat Ranking: This accumulates on you killing enemies. You must be not incapacitated for a kill to count towards this ranking. Worth 400 quest points.
- Clear Time: This checks you on time required to clear the mission. Worth 300 points if S rank time is reached, otherwise it goes down 1 point per second.
- Incapacitation Bonus: This checks the number of times you have had to use "Revive Here" option. This does not track any other revivals. At zero it it's 300 points, -100 points per Revive Here.
This creates the basis on which you are ranked at. You need all of the quest points to be at max value (indicated by a yellow PERFECT at the requirement) to get the S rank. 701-999 points is A rank, 501-700 is B rank, anything lower then that is C rank.
On drops side, along with anything the EQ gives you, the boss you kill also gives C/Boss Soul I-IV ×2(each roll is separate). If it's a Minor EQ on level 35+, you will also get Stragments for that EQ. If it's a major EQ, all C/Boss Soul capsules released up to this point will drop once as well. On top of that you get all of the EXP, N-Meseta and drops from mobs and bosses you killed along the way.
