OT Grinding Guide
New Type (NT) Weapon Grinding
NT Grinding Mechanics
New Type Weapon grinding works with the concept of having an EXP Gauge.
The system does not accommodate for the extra EXP fed into the weapon, as you would need to unlock the Potential at +10 for you to move to grinding for +20 and so on.
With this, only placing or feeding weapons that has the right amount of Grind and EXP value would be optimal to avoid wasteful grinding and preparing for NT fodders.
New Type Weapons also have the concept of Overlimit. The highest grind of +30 can be increased up to +35 by feeding the NT Weapon with another copy of the weapon.
Since the March 8, 2017 Update, the Overlimit of NT Weapons was changed into an additive behavior: when grinding an NT Weapon with +30 grind cap with the same weapon with a +31 grind cap, instead of it increasing to +31, as it previously did, it will now account for the Overlimit previously applied and will give a +32 Grind Cap.

- The EXP Given by NT fodders is the total EXP that it took to grind it to that level. Say we have a weapon at +10, the EXP that it would give as a fodder would be the EXP it took to grind it to 10, which is 50, divided by 2; along with the base EXP value, the fodder would give a total of 27 EXP.
- Old Type weapons are treated as New Type Weapons with 0 grind level, no matter that its grind is; a OT Weapon grinded to +10, with a level 3 Potential unlocked would just give the same EXP as an ungrinded NT Weapon.

Attribute Grinding
Attribute Grinding is a way to increase your Weapon Element, thus making them stronger.
To Attribute Grind, you must select a target weapon from the Attribute Grind menu. You will then be taken to a list containing all of the weapons in your inventory that are compatible with the target weapon. The weapons selected will be destroyed in the Attribute Grinding process. For a weapon to be counted as compatible, it must be of the same Rarity and Weapon Type. Once you have selected all the weapons you wish to sacrifice, you will then be taken to the Grind confirm menu, which will request a certain number of Synthesizers and Meseta; the requisite value of both is relative to the number of fodder sacrificed and the Rarity of the target weapon.
The system follows a simple mechanic on upgrading Attributes which are:
- Same Rarity/Same Weapon/Same Element: Combining two copies of the weapon of the same element will give an additive effect on the element. (e.g two 20 Katana will give 40 .)
- Same Rarity/Same Weapon/Different Element: Combining two copies of the weapon but of the different element will give the base weapon an increase of 10 in element, regardless of the Fodder's Attribute amount. (e.g upgrading a 20 Katana with a 25 one will give 30 .)
- Same Rarity/Different Weapon: Using a different weapon but of the same type and rarity will only give 1 element increase to the base weapon, regardless of the Fodder's Attribute amount.
- Attribute Support Items will also increase the target weapon's Attribute in addition to the bonus granted by the initial fodder.
Both Old-type and New-type weapons follow this mechanic. The only difference between the two is that you'd have to "feed" the Attribute Fodder for the New Type Weapon; NT weapons increase Attribute through the normal Grinding system and follow the same rules as normal Attribute Grinding; however, the fodder is fed to the target via NT Grinding, and no Synthesizers are used. On the other hand, there is a separate Attribute Grinding option in the Item Lab for Old-type Weapons.

Photon Color
Certain pieces of equipment have an ability known as Photon Color. This is signified by a small color palette icon at the bottom left of the equipment's icon. The Item Lab is able to change the color of the target equipment at no cost.
