Force is a returning class in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis.
Class Weapon Overview
Rod
A long-shafted weapon augmented for Technique casting. The Rod allows Forces to freely move around while casting as well as block attacks with the Guard weapon action.
Using the Guard Weapon Action, you can block attacks and negate their damage when Guarding right before the attack hits you.
Class Mechanics
New Mechanic: Charged Techniques
Charging a technique will lead to different actions. For example,
- Charging Foie will result in Rafoie being cast instead, which deals direct damage. The uncharged version fires a small fireball (like PSO2's uncharged Foie) that damages whatever it hits and deals a small amount of additional splash damage.
- Charging Barta will result in Ilbarta being cast instead. After building up a marker with uncharged Barta (which now acts similarly to PSO2's Foie), use a charged Barta to detonate the marker, dealing additional damage. The marker has two stages.
Rod Bullet
Returning from PSO2, upon Normal attacking with a rod, a bullet is fired that restores PP when hitting an enemy.
New Mechanic: Rod Free Movement
While charging and casting techniques with a Rod as well as shooting Rod Bullets with Normal attacks, the Force is able to move freely at a reduced speed.
New Mechanic: Rod Guard
Similar to Hunter, Force will now have a guard via Weapon Action on Rods. Just Guarding is also possible, which also restores 30 PP when successfully performed.
New Mechanic: Step Counter
Like all other classes, Force will have step as evasion and a counter move, instead of mirage step.
