Portal:Nova/Buster
The Buster (バスター, Bu) is a unique Class that appears exclusively in Phantasy Star Nova. The Buster class was developed to combat the Gigantes that roam the surface of Makhia, and is thus the only Class that is naturally capable of wielding the Pile weapon, an anti-Gigantes weapon that is able to create weak points on its targets and make them vulnerable to attack. Besides this, the Buster class is also able to wield every other weapon and learns unique Skills that augment play in unusual ways. The Buster class boasts level stat growth between all stats.
Weapons
The Buster Class can use all weapons, including the Pile.
Pile
A massive dual-type Striking/Ranged Launcher-like weapon that fires enormous stakes. The Pile is an anti-Gigantes weapon created through research into the native machine-like race on Makhia, and boasts high strength, speed, and range. The stakes that the Pile fires are capable of embedding themselves in enemies; striking embedded stakes with attacks inflicts increased damage to the target. In addition, by impaling a large Gigantes with the Pile's stakes, one can "capture" a large Gigantes by depleting its HP and using a technique known as Ignition, forming a Gran Link between the player and the Gigantes and allowing the player to call upon Gigantes for aid with the Gigante Blast technique.
The Pile can inherently use the Guard Weapon Action to defend against attacks. Blocking an attack with Guard vastly reduces damage taken while expending GP.
Halo
A handheld device that creates rings of pure Gran that can be used by all Classes. An anti-Gigantes weapon developed by the Delta Variant, the Halo is the only weapon capable of generating Ring Fields, areas of hard light that can be used to reach areas on Gigantes that are otherwise inaccessible. Aside from this, the Halo also possesses access to strong Technique-based Gran Arts and support abilities that make it far and away unique from any other weapon.
